EC Experience

Our Early Childhood Center exists to share the love of Jesus with children and families. We want to create an extraordinary opportunity for preschoolers. The result is a playful, safe, and caring environment where children learn and grow!

What will children experience at our Early Childhood Center?
  • Jesus Time: Wonderful events from the lives of our Savior Jesus Christ and people in the Bible come alive through storytelling, flannel board presentations and role playing.

  • Circle Time: Children have time together with their teachers, singing songs, counting, "reading" the calendar and weather charts and sharing their daily experiences.

  • Small Group Time: In small groups, children grow and learn with language development, reading, math experience and science exploration.

  • Art: Children explore their creativity through the use of a multitude of art media.

  • Music: Each day includes some music experience such as singing songs, dancing, listening and using musical instruments.

  • Chapel: On Wednesday each week, the children in PS and PK gather in the Worship Center for prayer and praise to Jesus! Families are always welcome at Chapel.

  • Activities to Develop Large Muscle Skills: Spacious areas indoors provide for games and large motor activities. A fenced area outdoors provides space for running and climbing.

  • Family Involvement: Families are always invited to visit the classrooms, chaperone field trips and chat with teachers. Our wish is to be child- friendly and family-friendly.

  • Family Activities: Our Early Childhood Center offers a number of family events during the school year. Highlights include:
    • Dad and Me Pumpkin Carving
    • Pumpkin Patch
    • Children’s Christmas Services
    • Purina Farms
    • Mother’s Tea
    • Move-Up Ceremony
    • Theme Days

  • Early Childhood Summer Camps: Each summer St. Mark’s hosts 5-day summer camps for children ages 3-5. Camps include art, music, water play, games, free play, patriotic activities, fairy tales, and special learning times about Jesus. Your little ones will love the creative art, songs, dance and active learning! Information and registration for summer camps is available beginning in February each year.
