Ron Pawlitz’s training includes an undergraduate teaching degree at Concordia University Nebraska, a master’s degree in religious education at Concordia Seminary St. Louis, and numerous post-master’s classes in educational administration. For a total of 45 years he has served Lutheran schools in a variety of demographic and geographic settings, as a middle school teacher, youth director, coach, music director, and administrator. He came to St. Mark’s in August 2015 to help the school prepare for and select its next long-term principal. He and his wife Gail together they enjoy landscaping, gardening, and hosting family gatherings with their five children and seven grandchildren.

Sandy Armstrong came to St. Mark's in 2007 to take on the role of Early Childhood Director. She graduated from Maryville University and got her Master's from Webster University, St. Louis. She earned her Lutheran Teacher Colloquy from Concordia University, Irvine. Sandy had ten years of early childhood experience before starting at St. Mark's. She also organizes and staffs the full-day summer programs for children from 2 years old to 6th grade. Sandy and Dan have two grown daughters and three grandchildren.

Debbie Armbruster started her ministry at St. Mark's in 1986.  During her years at St. Mark's she has taught English, literature, math, art, and PE, and has also coached volleyball, basketball, track and cross country.  Her undergraduate degree is from Concordia University, Seward, and she got her masters from the University of Houston.  She enjoys creating, writing, and sharing chapel messages, children's messages, and devotional materials.  During her free time, Debbie enjoys long walks, good books, and time with her husband Jim.

Linda Dehn has been teaching at St. Mark’s since 2001.  She has taught 3rd-8th grade and is currently teaching in the middle school.  She graduated from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, and completed her Lutheran Teacher Colloquy from Concordia University, Chicago.  Her love for hands-on teaching and field trips fits in well with the history curriculum.  In the summer of 2016, she attended a week long teacher institute in Colonial Williamsburg.  This experience helped enhance her knowledge of colonial times.  Linda is also involved in many children’s ministry programs, directs plays, and coaches the academic team.  She and her husband, Mike, have three children.  She enjoys traveling and learning about history.

Josh Dixon - Middle School
Joshua Dixon was born and raised in St. Charles, MO and is a graduate of Zion Lutheran, Harvester and Lutheran High School, St. Charles County.  After high school, he attended Concordia University, Seward obtaining both a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Secondary (6th-12th grade) Education. Upon graduating, Mr. Dixon was called to be the middle school science teacher and seventh grade home room teacher for Evansville Lutheran School in Evansville, Indiana. In the summer following his first year, Mr. Dixon got married and took a call to Springfield, IL to be the Physics, Physical Science, & Computer Applications teacher at Lutheran High School. Following the ’16-’17 school year, Mr. Dixon returned to his middle school roots and accepted a job at St. Mark’s. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two children.  He has a deep love for the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, Fighting Illini, Star Trek, video games, and politics. When not teaching, he can be found doing home improvement projects around his house or "training” for another race.

Jackie Haas joined the St. Mark's teaching staff in 2016. However, this is no new place to her as she has attended church here all her life and is an alumni of St. Mark's having attended school here from Pre-K through 8th grade. She graduated with her Masters in Education from Truman State University in May 2015. For the next year, she traveled the world and gained experience teaching abroad in Guatemala and Africa. She teaches 3rd and 4th grade and is also involved in children’s and youth ministries.  

Janet Landgraf came to St. Mark’s in 2016. She has her undergraduate from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and her Lutheran Teacher Colloquy from Concordia University, Chicago. She is currently attending Webster University for her Reading Masters. She loves being a life-long learner and encouraging her students to love learning too. Janet is currently serving as the Athletic Director and assisting with various children’s ministries such as Vacation Bible School and Little Worship. She is married to a Lutheran pastor, Paul, and they have 3 children.

Susan Mueller came to St. Mark's in 2016. She graduated from University of Missouri, St. Louis in 2004 and completed her Masters at Missouri Baptist University in 2009. She is very excited to be working at St. Mark's Lutheran School. She and her husband Andy have two children. 

Daviann Phye received her degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education from Webster University. Daviann and her husband Brad have two daughters. When she is not at school she love spending time with her family.

Julie Krueger joined St. Mark's Early Childhood staff in 2010 as the lead teacher for the prekindergarten students. Julie earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She is a parent educator in the Rockwood School District. Julie and her husband Kevin have three grown children and three grandchildren.

Debbie Wallach - Pre-Kindergarten
While Debbie Wallach is new to the Early Childhood staff, she has a long history with St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and School. Her two adult children attended St. Mark’s for their elementary education. She has been a Kindergarten aide, substitute teacher, and school volunteer for many years at St. Mark’s. Last year she taught pre-K at Central Baptist WEE School. Debbie graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering. After working at IBM for many years, she chose to be a stay at home mom. She and her husband Greg have been members of the church for over twenty years, and they love the St. Mark’s family. She teaches Children’s Sunday School, and loves volunteering for VBS and other Children’s Ministry events. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, working puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.

Jenn Castens came to St. Mark's in 2015. She has taught various ages and in various parts of the country. She has taught in Taiwan off and on since 1995. Jenn received her early childhood and elementary education degree from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She also works with the senior youth at Immanuel Lutheran in Festus/Crystal City. Despite being a Southern California girl born and bred, she has called the Midwest her home for her entire adult life. She is married to Kyle, a Lutheran pastor, and they have two sons, two dogs, a cat, a frog, and eight chickens.

Jennifer Brevard - Pre-School
Jennifer Brevard came to St. Mark's in August of 2014. She graduated from Concordia University, Seward Nebraska. She earned her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Webster University, Jennifer is married to Marc and they have two children.

Glenda Gastler - Toddlers

Crystal O'Callaghan joined St. Mark's Early Childhood staff in 2008. She is the lead teacher for the 2 year old Mighty Monkey class. Crystal was blessed with the opportunity to be a stay at home mom for several years. As a mother to four grown children she understand how important it is to provide a loving, safe and educational environment while having fun. Because, learning and play go hand-in-hand.

Sheri Haas has been the administrative assistant for the school since 1997. Her responsibilities include school publications, maintenance of records, coordination and scheduling of activities and events, communication to teachers and staff, and general management of daily activities at the school. She also coordinates the mission trips at St. Mark’s and loves to travel! Sheri and Ed have four grown children and four grandchildren.
